81 volunteers from Grupo GP get to work at an elementary school in Escobedo

A new dining area, a reading space, and improvements to the facilities were part of the work carried out by Grupo GP at the Profa. Paula Treviño Guajardo Elementary School in General Escobedo, Nuevo León.
The volunteer event took place on August 8 and brought together 81 people: 34 Grupo GP employees, 16 family members, 6 young people from the José María Garza Ponce Foundation, and 25 community members.
Improvements to Daily School Life
The volunteers built a dining area with outdoor tables and a bench that makes it easier to walk from the courtyard to the transportation exit. They also raised electrical outlets to prevent damage during rain and repaired cracks in the floors.
The work included painting classrooms and exterior surfaces. In addition, Grupo GP donated trees, laptops, and projectors to the school.

A New Place to Read
The event included the creation of a reading corner with books, a chalkboard, and a mobile unit that allows it to be moved to different areas of the school. The idea is to make books more accessible to the children and provide them with new opportunities to engage with reading.

This event is part of Grupo GP's corporate social responsibility initiatives in Nuevo León. Employees, their families, young people from the Foundation, and neighbors worked together on improvements that the school community will be able to use every day.
