Grupo GP and Acción Poética Bring the 60th Anniversary to the Streets of Monterrey

As part of its 60th-anniversary celebration, Grupo GP partnered with Acción Poética—the movement founded by Monterrey poet Armando Alanís Pulido—to paint more than 20 walls in Monterrey with phrases that reflect the city’s history and culture.

Among them were “Obras a la mano,” “Construye tus sueños,” and “Piensa, Razona y Actúa.” The latter is a phrase coined by the founder of Grupo GP, José María Garza Ponce, who has been passed down from one generation to the next within the organization.

Grupo GP was founded in Monterrey in 1966 and, since then, has built projects that are now an integral part of the city. Through this collaboration, the company also sought to share some of the ideas that have shaped its history. Throughout 2026, these quotes appeared on fences in various parts of Monterrey, visible to those who travel through the city every day.

Poetry found its way into Grupo GP's works

The collaboration extended to locations near three Grupo GP projects: the BBVA Stadium, the La Unidad Bridge, and the Roberto Garza Sada Center. At these sites, Acción Poética installed panels that linked the phrases to landmarks that are part of Monterrey.

"Poetic Action" in a temporary exhibition by Grupo GP

In August 2026, Acción Poética also participated in “Historias que Construyen: 60 Years of Building a Legacy,” Grupo GP’s temporary exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Monterrey.

Armando Alanís Pulido painted a phrase directly onto one of the museum’s walls. The artwork was part of an exhibition featuring projects, photographs, and stories through which Grupo GP celebrated six decades of its history.

From the fences to the museum, the collaboration with Acción Poética brought words that have been with Grupo GP since its inception to various spaces throughout Monterrey.
