To improve connectivity and promote development, we are building the Santa Catarina Viaduct
We built the viaduct that crosses the Santa Catarina River for our client ROADIS; this project is an extension and modernization of the Saltillo-Monterrey highway up to Gustavo Díaz Ordaz Boulevard.
The elevated infrastructure is designed to ease traffic congestion and save residents traveling to the Monterrey metropolitan area up to 20 minutes per trip; it has two lanes in each direction and a capacity of 3 million vehicles per year. Additionally, it plays a strategic role in connecting the region’s commercial activities with the U.S. border.
Great progress for the region
From the end of the Monterrey-Saltillo Highway in the Huastecas region to its junction with Gustavo Díaz Ordaz Avenue—which runs over Morones Prieto—the viaduct spans 8.9 kilometers alongside the Santa Catarina River.
This engineering initiative features a cutting-edge design that has been adapted to comply with current regulations and approved by the relevant authorities, making a significant contribution to the region's progress.
To carry out this project, we used plants operating 24 hours a day, 5 pumping units, more than 30 concrete mixer trucks to pour more than 230,000 m³ of concrete, and 30,940 metric tons of steel for more than 200 supports, 1,860 piers, and pile foundations measuring 19 meters in length.
A project that protects the environment
The Santa Catarina Viaduct is illuminated at night thanks to solar energy absorbed by more than 300 LED lights installed along its 8.9-kilometer length.
This infrastructure reduces emissions of air pollutants and includes an environmental offset plan with numerous measures that uphold its commitment to protecting the natural resources in the Santa Catarina River basin, such as:

✔ Water Quality Monitoring
✔ Waste collection by type
✔ Designation of areas for the restoration, recovery, and reforestation of native species.
These measures extend beyond the design and construction phases of the viaduct, thereby protecting our planet.
